Energy Efficiency for Vanuatu

Recently, the Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research carried out a Technical Assistance Week and Workshop on Energy Efficiency for Vanuatu. This workshop was hosted by the Vanuatu Energy Department as the local counterpart of the UNDP project, Center of Excellence for Small Island Development States, and funded in collaboration with the Dutch Kingdom.
HRADC, UNDP and EU join forces to facilitate and nurture a culture of Human Rights in Fiji

Over the past week, the Fiji Human Rights and Anti-Discrimination Commission, United Nations Development Programme and European Union organised six events across Fiji to facilitate and nurture the culture of human rights in Fiji and to raise awareness of access to justice reaching out to 516 people, with 85% reached being from outside of Suva.

Pranesh Lata was not aware of the social welfare services the Government provides to people in Fiji nor thought she would need it until her husband fell ill. Her husband was a carpenter and built the house where they and their two daughters are living comfortably in the Western part of Fiji. Sadly, one day her husband suffered a stroke while out at sea fishing for the family’s livelihood.
