Information Note: Good practices in public service excellence to prevent corruption

December 18, 2020

Public service excellence plays a key role in the prevention of corruption. This is a key focus of Chapter II of the United Nations Convention against Corruption on preventive measures, and is further supported by the global adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Of notable relevance is Sustainable Development Goal 16: “Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels”, and SDG 16.6 specifically targets the development of “effective, accountable and transparent institutions at all levels”.
