This Environmental and Social Management Framework and Management Plan has been prepared in support of a project proposal for “Republic of the Marshall Islands Integrated Water Resilience Program” by the Government of RMI to the Green Climate Fund. As this project is supported by UNDP in its role as a GCF Accredited Entity, the project has been screened against UNDP’s Social and Environmental Standards Procedure and deemed a moderate risk (International Finance Corporation/World Bank Category B) project.

The project will complement RMI's efforts in making the country resilient to the shocks of climate change, particularly among atolls that are highly vulnerable to drought. The project will invest in improving water security, water resilience and water governance.
