Solomon Islands Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, Disaster Management and Meteorology Capacity Development Project

SIMCAP addresses the needs of functional capacity development within the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, Disaster Management and Meteorology (MECDM) in the areas of corporate planning, coordination, monitoring and evaluation. SIMCAP provides technical support to MECDM in those areas in a systematic manner, mainstreaming gender, and consistent with national framework and processes.

Objectives

SIMCAP supports the MECDM to:

  • Develop its Corporate Plan (2015 – 2017 & 2018-2020):
  • Develop its Human Resource Development Plan;
  • Establish a Programme Management and Coordination Unit with the MECDM; and
  • Implement key actions of the Human Resource Development Plan.
  • Review organizational structure
